JRochelle Geter is a fashion designer, stylist and fiber artist. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she first started sewing at the age of seven. After that she explored other art mediums at the Baldwin School, such as jewelry making, architecture and painting. She then designed theater costumes for her alma mater, Haverford College, before attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In the SAIC Fashion Department chaired by Nick Cave, JRochelle Geter studied under renowned costume designer Bambi Breakstone, and established designers Anke Loh, Kristina Sparks, and Katrin Schnabl.  Since late 2008, she has designed under the moniker J.Rochelle Designs to create garments and sculptural pieces with character and personality through design, draping and embellishment. JRochelle has traveled and studied in Paris, Antwerp and Italy, among other places, which has greatly influenced her work. Her primary focus is women’s clothing and accessories, but is also experienced in making headpieces, menswear and children’s clothing. In 2012, her work was displayed at Fiber Philadelphia 2012; she created costumes for the SCUBA performances of Gabrielle Revlock and produced a fashion show for her leather accessories. JRochelle is currently working on custom gowns, working on her 2013 leather collection and blogging. JRochelle is also available for fashion styling for personal and professional appearances.
