Wolvesmouth Dinner

The internet is my best friend. I was searching for restaurants to check out during my trip and I came across this LA Weekly Article about Wolvesmouth. I quickly signed up and explained that I was coming from out of town and would love an invite if they were having an event during my stay. Next thing I know there was an email saying that there would be a dinner on May 24th, so I responded to that email saying the same thing and next thing you know I got an invite to join the Wolvesmouth dinner. Just to back track the Wolvesden is a 16 person dinner of about nine courses. The invite list is very selective and the guests are selected to create a balanced and interesting experience. It is in a secret location that you are only told about the day of the dinner, you obviously cannot share it with anyone, or else you lose. You bring your own beverages, they only serve water and basically it is the place to be...and I was there.

Wolvesmouth is coming to NYC. You can buy tickets here...if they're still available.

Increasing My Beauty Toolbox

I have been on a mission to explore beauty, and after reading those books I knew what I had to do...head to TJ Maxx to see what I could find. I was not disappointed, there were a ton of beauty products from LiSi, Nyx, OPI, Cala and a few other brands. Here's what I scored...

Lisi's Brow Perfector Eye Brow Pencil and Brush

Line& Define Eye Liner Pencil in Hurricane
Line& Define Eye Liner Pencil in Clear Skies

Automatic Lip liner in Bachata

I also picked up these two eye shadow brushes from Cala Products.
The one on the left has a bamboo handle!

OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Stickers

I also picked up a few brushes from Ross and Target. Here's the thing, I am into makeup, but I am not passionate enough to pay an exorbitant amount of money for them.
I am still experimenting with brushes, so why go broke?

Sonia Kashuk's Kabuki Brush (I have no clue what it is for, but it is really pretty),
and an angled blush brush, both from Target.

Brushes from Ross
(No clue what their "official" names are or purpose, but I bought them for applying blush.)

Make-up blender sponge by Bella Beauty (from TJ Maxx)

I think I have a pretty good selection of brushes, and these new toys helped to round out my collection. Next step, foundation and BB cream...

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

I'm headed out today and I'm so excited to get away. I've booked a rental car, picked up maps from AAA (yes I am extremely old school), created my itinerary (yes I am anal meticulous), checked the weather, got my IRHSA passport so I can go to the gym, got a vacation mani/pedi, charged my cell phone, laptop, bought more than a few Groupons, made reservations, bought a few tickets, and packed my luggage days ago,. My luggage has always been colorful; I used to have red luggage, but after many international and cross country trips I had to retire them, plus everyone started carrying red luggage... My latest pieces are purple and orange, and I managed to score these Missoni for Target bags that coordinate with both pieces, not like anyone is checking. (I went a day late, and it was like ghost town; these items were hidden by some unlucky shopper who thought that she was being slick, but took too long to retrieve her goods...so I won.)
