Getting Gorgeous!

I was fortunate enough to snag an invite to Getting Gorgeous' Beauty event in NYC. I didn't really know what to expect since this was my first blogger only event, but I hoped on the Megabus to NYC and of course I had a blast!

There were "selfies" with Tide and Downy. [You all know how horrible I am with these, so it took me hours to get a decent shot.]

I spun the CVS Beauty Club prize wheel a few times... and won products from the Nuance collection by Salma Hayek, Nexxus, Organix, Garnier, and more.  Stay tuned for product reviews.

And of course there were cocktails...Bacardi debuted their new mixers with an awesome "decorate your drink station" complete with edible flowers, colored sugar, and even fruit filled ice cubes!

There was also a display of some of the new gear from New Balance. Including the New Balance flats with a reversible massaging insole, and the new line in collaboration with Heidi Klum.

The ladies from Getting Gorgeous organized such a wonderful event; I met some great people, got interesting new products and got to network with other bloggers and PR reps.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I really like this lip colour; it delivers as a moisturizer, with long lasting color and lots of pigment. For those of us who wear lip color every day it is a nice change from traditional lipstick which often dehydrates. It is scented which was a bit surprising, and it can get messy during application or after a full day of eating, talking, etc., but for me the benefits outweigh the negatives.

I received this product in my April BirchBox, and luckily I got a color I like. I am still looking for a local distributor or a way to sample the colors before purchasing.

I love Pilates! I've been doing it now for about seven months, and I've noticed great results. I also bought a locker at my gym, so I have been able to bring my mat in and store it. I love my mat almost as much as I love Pilates; it's a 5-6 inches longer than a traditional yoga mat and is about 1/2 inch thick which is perfect cushioning for my spine. I haven't seen a mat this thick by any other company.

Sparkling Water!

I'm on a mission to drink more water, and I decided to switch it up one day with sparkling water, and I haven't looked back. I still drink regular water, but I find that sparkling water just appeals to my taste buds more..

Silk Shirts

Vince Silk Tunic at Morgan Clare

Vince Silk Tunic at The Outnet

I realized how wonderful they are this past summer. They provide coverage, are luxurious and are perfect for spring, summer and this weird transitional time we are in right now. As with most of my wardrobe, I buy quality silk shirt everywhere, thrift stores, Daffy's (RIP), TJ Maxx, Boyds of Philadelphia and I'm even plotting on these versions at Everlane.

What are some of your favorite things?

SAVA Spring Beauty

SAVA is one of my favorite brands in Philly. I've read countless articles about the vision and foresight of owner, Sarah Van Aken; I follow her brand on social media, but I've never actually been in the store until this
event. The store hosted a Spring Makeup Trend Event with artists from Beans Beauty.

Guests had an opportunity to munch on some treats, enjoy wine and champagne, and get their makeup done while shopping. Of course I had to get my makeup done! (Sidebar: Before this event I went to the gym, and then I went to the MAC store to purchase new foundation, nude lipstick and a purple lipstick. I did manage to get two out of three, but this nude lip made me so uncomfortable! AND I am horrible at taking "selfies", I've been practicing my "smizing", but the photos always manage to look so forced. I didn't have time to multiple pics, so I was stuck with this one:/ )

I know this is a weird picture, and the lighting was weird, but I just wanted you to see the little mini wings that Rose gave me. I also took a picture of the gorgeous baby doll eyelashes, but it was even freakier, so I'll spare you all.

This is the after shot, Rose from Beans Beauty was going crazy with my eyelashes and we tried to test out the two tone lip trend, but she had mostly glosses, so it didn't turn out so well. She did offer to try it out if I visited the store...I will definitely go see her soon!

I also had a great time at the SAVA boutique and will certainly be back to add some pieces to my wardrobe.

Welcome to the Eviama Life Spa!

I recently had the opportunity to check out the new home of the Eviama Life Spa. The Eviama Life Spa just moved to Midtown Village from its former home on 16th Street. Eviama Life Spa is the first organic spa, and prides itself on its "'whole picture' approach [which] means we consider your life experience, temperament, self esteem, health inheritance and health investment, environmental influences, lifestyle, and what it means to you to feel beautiful."

Owner, Penny Eviama and JRochelle
The Eviama Life Spa offers massages, facials, meditation, and waxing services, as well as a boutique of clothing, accessories, skincare products and beauty products by Dr. Haruschka for pregnant women, children and adults.

The representative from Dr. Haruschka was gracious enough to offer us all products to try at home. I received a lovely sample of the foundation and the Lavender Bath. I can't wait to try them out!

This new location in Midtown is such a great space, with a great energy, and very calming decor. The staff that we met were so warm and welcoming, especially Cassandra the massage therapist! She was so passionate about the Ashiatsu massage that my sister and I had to book one! She claims that this service is so relaxing that you "feel like you're drunk". I will certainly let you know if that is true!

I had such a great time exploring this spa and the Eviama Life Spa is still celebrating its arrival to 13th Street. RSVP for the Grand Opening on May 3rd here.
